Different machines do not mean that every alarm is unique. So, some parts of the machine are similar to the parts of other machine types. For that it is important to have the feature of standardize specified alarms and inherit them to other projects, machine types, or machines.
- Create a parent project

Define standard alarms
When you create an alarm you have to insert an “Alarm Name” and a “Description”. The other field are optional.
On the left side of the table is a checkbox. If this checkbox is clicked this alarm texts in all languages and the attached document in all languages will be inherited to the child projects in case that the option for reloading standard alarms is activated.
So, in that example, the alarm text and the attached documentation of Alarm number 0, 2, 3, 4 and 10 will be inherited to child projects.

Take Care
- By editing the languages and deleting a language, all alarm texts and documents in that language will be deleted also. So please take care.
- Think before when you change the “Reload Standard Alarm” setting:
- Change from “Do it” to “Don’ Do it” all standardized messages and documents will be copied from the parent project to your project. Depending to the amount this can take a few minutes after saving the changes.
- Change form “Don’t do it’ to “Do it” will overwrite all alarm texts with the texts from the parent project.
So don’t drink and change!
